FAQs

What is the average starting price of the trained adult dogs for sale?

Our fully trained companion dogs begin at $10,000, while our Home/Family protection dogs start at $20,000.

Do you take deposits to hold a puppy?

We require a 25% deposit of the purchase price. DogMastery attempts to match each puppy with a household that’s suitable for that puppy’s disposition. We don’t have “pick puppies”.  A puppy that’s ideal for my family might not be ideal for another household.

What is the procedure to purchase a puppy from your kennel?

Please fill out the litter application; this will allow us the opportunity to get familiar with what you’re looking for in a dog.

What is the average price for one of your puppies?

All of our puppies range in price from $1800 to $3500, depending on the breeding. Our older puppies (6-9 months of age) have completed the puppy management program and range in price from $3500 to $6,500.

What happens to our deposit if we change our mind about buying a dog? All deposits are non-refundable.

Can we apply our deposit to another dog or pup at a later date? Yes; we recognize that sometimes, due to unfortunate circumstances or just bad timing, it’s not an ideal time to bring a new family member into the household.

Is it difficult for a fully trained dog to acclimate to a new family or environment?
Absolutely not, all fully trained family members have extreme pack drive and the desire to please and bond with their new household. We walk you through our proven process which we’ve utilized for two decades. DogMastery wants to make sure your newest additions have a seamless transition into their new home.

How are the dogs delivered to the new owners? We send our dogs using airlines’ Pet Priority service. This premium service assures us that your dog is the last on the plane and first off. You are also more than welcome to pick up your pet from our facility here in California.

Do you offer maintenance training on the dog?
Yes, there are two options for maintenance training. You can either fly to California with your pet, which incurs no training cost. Alternatively, a member of our staff would be more than happy to fly to your city and perform the necessary maintenance at your home.

What is the typical delivery cost?
Freight charges for delivery of puppies is usually between $200 and $500. The average cost for adults is between $450 and $575. Airline-approved kennels range between $100 and $200.

Does the owner pay the freight charges to you or the airline? Due to recent policy changes, very few airlines offer COD services. Therefore, shipping of the animal must be pre-paid.

Will the new dog be protective immediately after arrival?

All dogs acclimate to new environments at different stages. We usually find our dogs feel comfortable and territorial over the property between 7 to 28 days. At this stage they will perform the exercises they’ve been taught for sentry work. The handler will be taught how to handle the dog in advance scenarios between 7-14 days. One must remember; dogs are pack animals and must feel like he/she is part of your unit. Once this rapport is developed, you will have a trusting companion that will never let you down.

What happens to our deposit if there are not enough puppies born in a litter, and we are unable to receive a puppy?

We only accept deposits after confirmation of pregnancy. The deposit is transferable to another litter of your choice.

How soon after we pay for the dog can we expect delivery?

We can usually arrange for delivery to your destination within 24 to 48 hours after final payment has been received.

How will we know what to do once the dog arrives?

Prior to sending the dog, we email a detailed outline of the dogs’ current schedule that your family has forwarded. Upon your dog’s arrival, he will be conditioned to the hours of your families’ workday. You will be able to view your dogs training exercises via DogMastery T.V.

We have never bought a trained dog before. Do we need to come to your kennel and learn how to work with the dog? We will arrange transportation to your home 7-14 days after your pet’s arrival.  A well-trained dog does not need an experienced handler in order to perform what they have previously learned, but rather our focus will be to teach you how to better understand and read your dog properly.

Why would a dog perform for a brand new owner?

Remember, dogs are conditioned animals that thrive off schedules. We will recreate your daily routine at our facility before transferring the dog to your home. Also remember that dogs are pack animals and love social interaction. They will transfer their loyalty to their new family, just as their training behavior has taught them.
