Canine Good Citizen Evaluator

The Canine Good Citizen program was designed by the American Kennel Club (AKC) to encourage pet owners to teach their companions good manners. We utilize this program’s evaluation as a prerequisite into our Home and Family protection programs to help eliminate a possible liability situation. It promotes responsible pet ownership and gives handlers the opportunity to better understand their pet’s disposition. Most importantly, it involves training your dog to be well-behaved and calm in any situation. Ultimately, it allows you the opportunity to enjoy your “family member” in high traffic retail areas, parks or the kids’ extracurricular activities.

Once your dog has completed a formal training program, he or she will be prepared to take the Canine Good Citizen test. One of our AKC-Approved Evaluators administers the test. Dogs that pass receive a Canine Good Citizen certificate. This document certifies that your dog has the temperament to be in the general public. Dogs of any breed can earn their Canine Good Citizen certification.
